NEGATIVE ACTIVE MATERIAL, METHOD OF PREPARING SAME, AND RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY INCLUDING THE SAME

A negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery is provided to improve cycle lifetime characteristic and to prevent lifetime degradation of the lithium secondary battery by forming air bubble with optimal sizes inside an assembly. A negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery comprises a spherical assembly formed by bonding a plate-like material capable of doping and dedoping the lithium. Also, the pores are formed inside the assembly. A method for manufacturing the negative electrode active material comprises the steps of: (S1) manufacturing the plate-like material capable of doping and dedoping the lithium; (S2) manufacturing a mixture by mixing the plate-like material and a low-temperature plastic polymer binder; and (S3) plasticizing the mixture at low-temperature to manufacture the negative electrode active material containing the assembly formed inside thereof.
