A water temperature measurement apparatus and the method using an underwater float are provided to obtain the information of water temperature, position, and so on according to the depth of water changed consecutively. A water temperature measurement apparatus(100) using an underwater float is composed of an underwater float(101) which is movable longitudinally, a water temperature sensing assembly settled in a buoyancy chamber within a first tubular unit of underwater float, a wireless communication unit receiving from a GPS(Global Positioning System) satellite(200) and the transmitting the measured water temperature value and the position information, and a fixed block connected to the lower part of the first tubular unit and arranged on a seafloor. The underwater float is composed of the first tubular unit whose upper and lower parts are opened, a second tubular unit shutting the top of the first tubular unit tightly, and an air generating unit.
