The device has a trapezoid shaped elastic stab maintained under pressure, and a fuse link made of thermoplastic material for holding the stab under tension and for releasing the stab when a lightning arrester cell (3) reaches preset temperature. The stab activates an end-of-life indicator unit when the stab is released by casted fusible links. The stab, fuse link and the end-of-life indicator unit are formed of a single piece made of polypropylene. Two pieces (7A, 7B) are formed of the single piece that rotates around a rotation axis (A) of the fuse link.
