The invention relates to a process for preparing a sinterable cobalt powder meant especially for manufacturing irradiating targets made of metal cobalt. According to the invention, the process consists in precipitating the cobalt oxalate from a salt solution at a temperature of 60A C, with a rotation speed of the stirrer of 750 rpm, with a rate of addition of the precipitation agent, the ammonium oxalate, of 0.2 m/s, followed by directly reducing the cobalt oxalate to metal cobalt with hydrogen, at a temperature of 650A C for 2 h then of 350A C for other 2 h, with a cooling rate of 660A C/h.
|
