PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine which can reduce costs of an antimicrobial material producing means for sterilizing treatment of the laundry, can reduce the time for supplying antimicrobial material-loaded water, can improve diffusion to the laundry of the highly-concentrated antimicrobial material supplied to the inside of a rotating drum and can reduce variations in the attachment of the antimicrobial material to the laundry. SOLUTION: A first water supply path 38a is constituted by bifurcating a water supply path from a water supply valve 37 in mid-course and supplies a water-receiving tub 26 with washing water through a washing agent case 37a. The water supply path from the water supply valve 37 is bifurcated in mid-course and an antimicrobial material producing device 48 is arranged in mid-course for eluting an antimicrobial material and loading the washing water with it. The washing water is simultaneously supplied through a second water supply path 38b which directly supplies a rotating drum 24 with the antimicrobial material-loaded washing water through a first opening 24a. In this manner, the cost can be reduced, the water supply time can be reduced, the high-concentration antimicrobial material-loaded water can be diluted and quickly spread and variations in the attachment of the antimicrobial material to the laundry can be reduced.
