PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical biosensor kit which is available indoors, compact and inexpensive. SOLUTION: A transparent substrate 110, wherein influenza B antibody 114 is fixed to a determination section 118, and a gold particle labelling anti-influenza B antibody is included in a reagent pad 113, is housed in a light shielding box 120. An observation window 121 is provided in the light shielding box 120. An edge 111 of the transparent substrate 110 projects outside the light shielding box 120. When a specimen 136 fallen in drops from a specimen feed port 122 contains an influenza B virus antigen, an immune complex is formed at the determination section 118 and gold fine particles collect and deposit on the determination section 118. Light incident from the edge 111 propagates in the transparent substrate 110 while totally reflecting, thereby evanescent light generates at the surface of the transparent substrate 110 and the evanescent light is scattered by the gold fine particles.
