<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of suppressing the loss of a printing medium such as continuous form paper, and capable of preventing a reduction in productivity of a printing process. <P>SOLUTION: In a front surface printer 2 and a rear surface printer 3, the presence or absence of the abnormality of image formation by each printer engine and abnormality of conveyance of the continuous form paper P in a paper conveyance path 15, and the degree of each abnormality are detected. When these abnormalities are detected, it is determined whether or not the detected degrees of abnormalities exceed a predetermined degree. When determined that the degrees of abnormalities is greater than the predetermined degree, printing is stopped.
