<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell unit cell having high productivity and having a highly air-tight seal part free of thermal dry shrinkage of an electrolyte membrane and resultant positional misalignment. <P>SOLUTION: A method of sealing a fuel cell unit cell includes to prepare a temporary assembling body having a layered structure with a polymer electrolyte membrane nipped between a pair of electrodes to form a membrane-electrode assembly whose outside is further nipped between a pair of separators and having a space as a seal part; prepare a thermal press-bonding means having a lower heating and pressing part with a lower pressing element, a heating element and a temperature rising preventing element and an upper pressing part; charge a thermosetting sealing material into the space as the seal part of the temporary assembling body; mount the temporary assembling body on a lower heating and pressing surface; nip the temporary assembling body between the lower heating and pressing surface and an upper pressing surface; and thereafter remove the temperature rising preventing element from between the lower pressing element and the heating element to rise the temperature of the lower heating and pressing surface to set and thermally press-bond the thermosetting sealing material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
