DESULFURIZER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME, AND FUEL CELL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desulfurizer which is inexpensive and easy to manufacture, a method for operating the same, and a fuel cell system.

SOLUTION: The desulfurizer comprises: a reactor in which a desulfurization catalyst layer is laid; a heating means to heat the desulfurization catalyst layer; a heating temperature measuring means to measure the heating temperature of the heating means; a material supply means to supply hydrocarbon material to the reactor; a heating control part which controls on/off action of heating of the desulfurization catalyst layer by the heating means, according to the heating temperature of the heating means measured by the heating temperature measuring means, and obtains the duty ratio of the on/off action of heating; and a material supply control part which causes the material supply means to start supply of hydrocarbon material to the reactor when the duty ratio becomes a predetermined value or below.
