摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium transition-metal compound powder for the positive electrode of a lithium secondary battery capable of both improving load characteristics such as a rate/output characteristic and materializing a high density. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium transition-metal compound powder for the positive electrode of the lithium secondary battery is formed of the lithium transition-metal compound having a function capable of absorption/desorption of a lithium ion as a main component. A material is prepared by calcining a fine and even mixture of the main component and an additive to suppress a particle growth and sintering during calcination. The spherical secondary particle is formed by massing together a primary particle with an average diameter of 0.05 to 0.9 &mu;m.
