PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect individual information included in an image by making it possible to easily select a range that is subjected to image processing. SOLUTION: Individual information such as a face or characters is automatically detected from an image when photographed, and coordinates representing an area of the detected individual information is recorded in tag data of an image file. A processing target image 84 and processing desired to be applied to the processing target image are selected in a blog mode in which photographed images are displayed on a monitor. When resize processing and protection processing are selected, the coordinates of the individual information are read from the tag data of the processing target image 84, and image processing, such as mosaics 91 to 93 so that individual information, such as faces 85a and 86a and a character 87a can not be identified. The individual information is reduced to a size suitable to be published on a home page, or the like at the same time.
