PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method by which image deletion can be prevented without consuming excessive toner and favorable images can be obtained for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of an electrostatic latent image carrier by a developing means into a toner image, transferring the toner image onto a transfer body and then cleaning by a cleaning means that touches the surface of the electrostatic latent image carrier, wherein when no image is formed, the toner is supplied in a plurality of times at a predetermined time interval by the developing means to the electrostatic latent image carrier.
