PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel factor for inducing differentiation or promoting maturity of osteoblasts, and to provide a pharmaceutical using the same. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical contains (1) a protein which comprises an amino acid sequence represented by sequence 1 or (2) a protein which comprises an amino acid sequence represented by sequence 1 modified by addition, deletion or substitution of one or more amino acids and has an activity of inducing differentiation or promoting maturity of osteoblasts.
