PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for assaying nucleic acids included in complicated sample (hereinafter the nucleic acids are referred to as the target nucleic acids) through a simple method and can specifically measurer the target nucleic acid, further provide a method that can detect, recover and condense the target nucleic acids accurately with a trace amount in a short time. SOLUTION: In the method for separating, recovering and condensing the target nucleic acids, all nucleic acids containing the target nucleic acids are cut with at least one kind of restriction enzyme that does not cut the base sequence region of the target nucleic acids, then only the nucleic acid fractions including the base sequence of the target nucleic acids are separated and recovered.
