The invention relates to biocidal compositions in the form of solutions, comprising a) 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one formula (I) and/or a salt thereof, preferably an alkaline or ammonium salt thereof, particularly a lithium, sodium or potassium salt, b) 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dicyanobutane formula (II), c) at least one solvent that is obtainable from an alcohol of the formula (III) R1(OH)y(III), where R1 is an aliphatic carbon hydrogen group with 3 to 50 carbon atoms that may be interrupted by oxygen atoms, y is a number of 3 to 50, with the stipulation that y is not greater than the number of the carbon atoms in R1, by alkoxylation with 1 mol to 100 mol of a C2- to C4- alkylene oxide, styrol oxide or mixtures thereof.
