The universal console has devices for fastening a console on a wall, so that a cladding for the wall and a lining board for a ceiling and a railing for the console are detachably held. The universal console has a square pipe (1,8) and spacing units, with which the square pipe is fastened on wall, such that a gap remains between the square pipe and the wall above the spacing units. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting around the wall.
