PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element of scarcely increased driving voltage as a light emitting time increases and a light emitting element of scarcely increased value of resistance as a film thickness increases. SOLUTION: The light emitting element includes a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer between a first electrode and a second electrode provided as opposed, allow the first layer to contain an organic substance and a first substance exhibiting electron acceptability to the organic substance, allow the second layer to contain the organic substance and a second substance exhibiting electron donicity to the organic substance, allow the third layer to contain a light emitting substance, allow the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer to be sequentially laminated, allow the first layer to contact the first electrode, allow the third layer to contact the second electrode, and emit light if voltage is applied so as to allow the potential of the second electrode to be higher than that of the first electrode.
