The invention relates to a turbocharger for a turbochargeable internal combustion engine (30), comprising at least one fresh air intake for taking in fresh air, at least one compressor for compressing the fresh air taken in, the compressor being connected downstream of the fresh air intake in the flow direction of the fresh air, further comprising at least one fresh air outlet, which is connected downstream of the compressor in the flow direction and via which fresh air compressed in the compressor can be supplied to an air intake side of the internal combustion engine (30), and further comprising at least one bypass device for bridging at least one compressor, the bypass device being configured to conduct at least a portion of the fresh air supplied past the compressor during operation.
