A method and a system for reducing power consumption and efficiently managing network by using AVB are provided to improve the energy efficiency of network and reduce the electricity of being required in order to maintain the disciplined channel. EEN(Energy Efficient Networking) control objects monitor traffic on link. EEN control objects monitor the operation of each link partners and the information is collected(404). It determines whether to need EEN transaction based on EEN policy of network(406). The EEN transaction is performed during a time slot(410).
