摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having high energy efficiency and capable of reducing size by preventing heat generation and drying by sufficiently suppressing resistance increase of an electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 1A is constituted by laminating a polymer electrolyte membrane 2, a catalyst layer 3A or 3B, a gas diffusion layer 5A or 5B, and a current collector 6A or 6B in this order, and humidity control layers 9A and 9B are arranged on the opposite sides to the gas diffusion layers 5A and 5B of the current collectors 6A and 6B. The electrolyte membrane 2 can hold humidity without being dried by moisture absorbing and releasing actions of the humidity control layers 9A and 9B, and motion of protons moving from the catalyst layer 3B on the fuel electrode side to the catalyst layer 3A on the oxygen electrode side by permeating the electrolyte membrane 2 can be accelerated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
