<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for generating a piece database of a scale, according to the storage capacity and processing capability of an object speech synthesizer, by effectively determining a speech piece to be deleted from a large scale piece data base, using less test text. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises an evaluation value calculation means, which selects one or more corresponding speech pieces from the piece data base for each synthesis target information included in a series of synthesis target information, and which obtains an evaluation value of the speech piece for the synthesis target information, for indicating a degradation rate of a synthesis speech waveform from the target for each selected speech piece, and which generates an evaluation value data base for indicating the evaluation value of the corresponding speech piece, for each synthesis target information; and a piece-deleting means for selecting the prescribed number of the speech pieces, on the basis of the evaluation value for each synthesis target information of the speech piece. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
