<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphite material having a low thermal expansion coefficient while having excellent thermal conductivity, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the high thermal conductivity graphite material comprises: a kneading stage where a binder is added to the one obtained by pulverizing coal pitch-based mosaic coke in which spherical crystals composing the structure are large and whose needle ratio is low, so as to be the average grain size of 13 to 20 μm, and kneading is performed; a repulverizing stage; a molding stage; a firing stage; an impregnating stage; a refiring stage; a graphitizing stage; and a stage where, after the graphitizing stage, an impregnating stage, a firing stage and a graphitizing stage are repeated. Further, the high thermal conductivity graphite material is obtained by the above production method, and in which bulk density is ≥1.85 g/cm<SP>3</SP>, thermal conductivity in the respective directions of X, Y, Z directions is ≥170 W/m K and a thermal expansion coefficient is ≤5.5×10<SP>-6</SP>/K, and which is isotropic. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
