<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leuco coloring matter having a high coloring property which can be used as an image forming material to be used for an electronic photograph, especially, for a printer, a copying machine, a FAX, heat-transfer recording, a writing instrument or printing in addition to a heat-sensitive paper, a pressure-sensitive paper or a rewritable material having been conventional applications, and also, aims at the application as an image forming material of which the image can be erased by the control of the heat history or the contact with an erasing solvent. <P>SOLUTION: This coloring compound has an amino group on the tip of a straight chain alkyl group which is combined with an electron acceptance coloring compound. The coloring compound consists of the 3-6C straight chain alkyl group. This coloring matter compound consists of a compound of the coloring compound and ethyl gallate.
