PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for a calcium aluminate hydraulic material which promotes the setting of a calcium aluminate hydraulic material with a sufficient degree, exhibits the effect of conversion suppression, and further can increase acid resistance and seawater resistance, and to provide a cement composition. SOLUTION: The additive for the calcium aluminate hydraulic material comprises lithium-containing EDI type zeolite. In which, the content of lithium is≥5% expressed in terms of Li<SB>2</SB>O, and the total content of Na<SB>2</SB>O and K<SB>2</SB>O is <0.5%.
