PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hole closing plug for a female screw having relatively simple construction for closing a hole with a female screw provided in an automobile body panel or the like. SOLUTION: The hole closing plug 11 for the female screw is provided for closing a screw hole 30 of a female screw member 27 fixed to the reverse face of a mounted member 26 and a hole 29 of the mounted member. It comprises a flange 13 large enough to close the hole 29 of the mounted member 26, a supporting column 14 suspended from the flange, and elastic locking pieces 15, 17 extending from the front end side of the supporting column to the flange so as to be gradually farther from the supporting column as tending closer to the flange. When the supporting column 14 and the elastic locking pieces 15, 17 are inserted into the hole of the mounted member and the screw hole, the front end of the elastic locking piece 17 is locked to the thread of the screw hole 30 and the flange 13 closes the hole of the mounted member.
