A switching display control system for realizing transmission/semi-transmission/reflection modes and a method thereof are provided to maintain the high contrast of an LCD panel regularly regardless of intensity of the external light by converting a switching display mode through a twist-ball. A display mode setting unit(202) sets up a switching display(110) in one of transmission, semi-transmission and reflection modes according to a condition of the external light. A twist-ball controller(203) controls the electric signal of transparent electrodes(106,107) of the switching display according to the set display mode, and then controls a plurality of twist-balls(108) included in the switching display. The twist-balls are made of reflection material and transparent material having a charge.
