<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory card management device and a memory card management program which convert data in a memory card such that the data become suitable to a device which mainly uses the card. <P>SOLUTION: This device includes a setting file management unit 11 and a data conversion unit 12. The setting file management unit 11 checks whether or not a setting file including information indicating an electronic device which uses the memory card 50 is recorded in the memory card 50 inserted into a memory card slot 40; when the setting file is not recorded, identifies the type of the electronic device which uses the memory card 50, generates the setting file and records the setting file in the memory card 50; checks whether or not content data incompatible with the contents of the setting file resides in the memory card 50; and records in the memory card 50 the content data converted such that the data becomes suitable to the contents of the setting file.
