PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of preventing the occurrence of a display defect due to local thinning of an alignment layer, and electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The alignment layer 34 coming in contact with a liquid crystal layer 23 and regulating the alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules is formed on a first electrode 11. The first electrode 11 is includes a band-shaped electrode 11b formed into a band shape and the sectional shape orthogonal to the extension direction of the band-shaped electrode 11b is formed with the a slope part 11s at the end on the side of the extension direction.
