PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terrestrial digital broadcast transmission apparatus and reception apparatus of a layered transmission system for setting different layer parameters in such a way that delay between transmission and reception in each layer is made as short as possible and timing is aligned between layers. SOLUTION: A terrestrial digital broadcast transmission apparatus of a layered transmission system for setting different layer parameters includes means for performing delay correction, on delay caused by a temporal interleave section, in such a way that delay of each layer becomes an integer multiple of both transmission and reception frames in accordance with a value specified by the number of delay correction symbols constituting the relevant layer.
