PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make practical the self-diagnosis function of a suspension system including an electromagnetic shock absorber. SOLUTION: When the electromagnetic shock absorber generates resisting force to relative action of a sprung side unit and an unsprung side unit, concretely for example, force suppressing the posture change of a vehicle body, the vehicular suspension system is constituted so as to detect a problem permitting movement to a unit provided with a screw rod of a part screwed with at least a nut of the screw rod, according to actual stroke amount Str obtained from the detection result of an inter-sprung-and-unsprung distance sensor, and estimated stroke amount STe estimated from the detection result of a rotation angle sensor of an electromagnetic motor (S22-S33). According to this system, for example, a defect of the system such as the breakage of the screw rod and separation from a section to which the screw rod is coupled can be detected.
