PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system for more skillfully sharing and reusing a printed document than the conventional manner, and for promoting effective utilization of resources (papers). SOLUTION: In a document management system, when filing conditions are satisfied by an electronic document, the electronic document is printed as a printed document; and when an identification code is printed on the printed document, the identification code is stored in a database. Thus, the printing of document can be managed. Also, when a reading code from a code reader provided in a library matches with the identification code, it is recognized that a filing document has been stored in the library, and filing finish information is stored within a database.
