PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide braking controlling device and method for vehicle for performing communicating control based on a proper driving pattern during running of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In this braking controlling device, an ECU performs main communicating control based on a main driving pattern when non-braking operation determining conditions A are satisfied after an ignition switch is turned "on". The ECU performs sub-communicating control based on a sub-driving pattern being different from the main driving pattern in driving form of each opening and closing valve (step S52) when the non-braking operation determining conditions A are satisfied if a first elapsed time T1 from the completion of communicating control exceeds a prescribed time KT1 (YES at step S41).
