<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by quickly receiving a standard wave for time calibration. <P>SOLUTION: A P signal is detected from a time code generated as needed in accordance with a signal on a received standard wave. Then, if the second of the internal time when detected takes on a units digit of "5 to 9", the units digit is turned into "0" by carrying the units digit one second after the detection of the P signal.
