<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, system, and device for an optical fiber measuring which measures simultaneously a temperature distribution and a strain distribution of an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: Two optical fibers 6, 7 are installed in parallel under the same temperature environment so that a strain distribution is applied to only one optical fiber 6 thereof, and that the other optical fiber 7 is installed in a free state, Then the two optical fibers are subjected to B-OTDR measurement, to thereby find Brillouin frequency shiftsΔf<SB>1</SB>,Δf<SB>2</SB>of each optical fiber 6, 7. A smaller value (Δf<SB>2</SB>) of the two acquired Brillouin frequency shifts is divided by a temperature dependency coefficient C<SB>T</SB>to thereby calculate the temperature distribution, and a difference (Δf<SB>1</SB>-Δf<SB>2</SB>) between the two Brillouin frequency shifts is divided by a strain dependency coefficient C<SB>ε</SB>to thereby calculate the strain distribution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
