PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a reserved picture recording program with satisfactory convenience when a storage capacity is insufficient. SOLUTION: A CPU 11 in a digital broadcasting receiver has: a recording reservation section 111 for receiving operation inputted from a user via an operation section 14 to set the reserved picture recording program that is a program to be recorded, based on the received operation input; a capacity determination section 113 for determining whether there is storage capacity for storing the set reserved picture recording program at a video image storage section 181; and a recording execution section 115 for recording at least one of the caption information and sound information of the reserved picture recording program at the video image storage section 181 without recording the video image information of the reserved picture recording program in the video image storage section 181 when it is determined that there is no storage capacity for storage in the video image storage section 181.
