PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the chatter vibration by calculating optimum rotation speed from phase information for each of the cases, in which either of a regenerative chatter vibration or a forced chatter vibration may take place, or both of them may take place. SOLUTION: A Fourier analysis of a vibrational acceleration is carried out in S1, and a maximum acceleration and frequency thereof are calculated in S2. The maximum acceleration is then compared with a threshold value in S3, and if the acceleration exceeds the threshold value, a k-value and phase information are calculated in S4, and each calculated value is stored in S5. If retrying is selected in S6, a type of a current chatter vibration is determined from the phase information in S9, and the existence of a chatter vibration different from the determined chatter vibration is determined in subsequent S10 and S11, each new phase information is calculated in S12 to S15 according to the determined chatter vibration and the existence of a different chatter vibration which has been generated before the current vibration. Then, a k1-value is calculated from new phase information in S16, and the optimum rotation speed is calculated with the k1-value in S17 to change to the optimum rotation speed in S18.
