PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture resin coated metallic seamless can bodies which are environment-friendly and excellent in the properties of a can such as corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: A lubricant is applied to a resin coated metallic sheet 4 which is formed by coating both surfaces of a metallic sheet 1, with thermoplastic polyester base resin 2, 3. A cup body 5 is formed by drawing this resin coated metallic sheet 4. Seamless can bodies 60 are made continuously at high speed by ironing the cup body 5 with a punch 10 and ring dies 27, 28, 29 by one stroke and in dry condition. The apparatus for manufacturing resin coated metallic seamless can bodies is characterized in that ironing is performed while keeping the surface temperature of the punch 10 at 35-100°C during forming and at proper temperature (A°C) within the range not higher than glass transition temperature (Tg) of the thermoplastic polyester resin by circulating cooling fluid in the punch 10 at that time.
