PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce inconvenience due to a wait state while a server creates data requested for transfer. SOLUTION: In a data transfer system 10, when a client terminal 12 issues a request for data transfer, in a server arithmetic processing unit 24 of the server 14, a process is started which corresponds to a transfer management unit 28 and a data creation unit 30. The data creation unit 30 creates requested data and stores it in a database 36. The transfer management unit 28 acquires information on data creation progress in the data creation unit 30 according to access at predetermined intervals from the client terminal 12, and transmits the information to the client terminal 12. Furthermore, data are transferred by predetermined amount to the client terminal 12 every time the predetermined amount of data is created.
