An electro-fusion drainage system coupling 100,400,700 has a tubular body with outer 180,480 and inner 170,470 substantially parallel surfaces. The inner surface defines a passageway from end 110,410 to end 112,412. A resistive heating element 300,310,312 is disposed in the passageway. The electro-fusion coupling may further include a stop 150 positioned in the passageway to contact the end of the thermoplastic pipe 210,212,220 inserted into the passageway. Other implementations include an electro-fusion coupling 700 with a fitting integrally formed on a second end and a thermoplastic piping system presented in a kit. Methods of the invention are also described.
