A spindle assembly for machine tools is provided to minimize the vibration of a cutting tool and improve the machining precision and prolong the service life of the tool. A spindle assembly for machine tools comprises a spindle body(20) in which a tool port is formed; a press unit(40) installed at the spindle body. A tool holder is detachably fitted into the tool port. The press unit forces the inner surface of the tool port against the outer surface of the tool holder by compressing the outer surface of one side of the spindle body.
