<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time of medical navigation procedure, by enhancing image registration accuracy, by reducing a dose, with a simplified image registration procedure. <P>SOLUTION: A registered image is created based on first and second images by acquiring the first image of a patient anatomy and the second image of a patient anatomy. Automated image registration systems 300 and 500 are provided without any use of fiducial markers, headsets or manual registration, to allow medical devices 320 and 520 to be navigated within the patient anatomy. Furthermore, respective embodiments teach to navigate the medical devices 320 and 520 in the patient anatomy with reduced exposure to ionizing radiation.
