<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate for a surface light source capable of setting light distribution characteristics and intensity distribution of an emitting light viewed from two directions such as the longitudinal direction of a light incident surface of the light guide plate and a direction perpendicular to the light incident surface as target light distribution characteristics and target intensity distribution. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of stripes of mirror surfaces 5 extending in the direction (X-axis direction) perpendicular to the light incident surface 2a are formed on a light-distribution control surface 4a between both surfaces 4a, 4b in the thickness direction (Z-axis direction) of the light guide plate 1 in parallel to the longitudinal direction (Y-axis direction) of a light incident surface 2a, and a plurality of stripes of prisms 7 extending in the Y-axis direction are formed on locations excluding the mirror surfaces 5 in parallel to the X-axis direction.
