PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for preventing excessive consumption of toner and preventing the degradation of additional information and the degradation of original images. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: image data acquisition means for acquiring image data generated from an original or image data transmitted from the outside of the present apparatus; information printing judgement means for judging whether or not an information printing dot constituting the additional information is included in the image data; normal printing judgement means for judging whether or not a normal printing dot constituting normal printing information which is other color information excluding the additional information is included in the image data; and adding means for adding the additional information relating to the present apparatus to the image data on the basis of the presence/absence of the information printing dot and the presence/absence of the normal printing dot.
