PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette for a thermal transfer sheet and a shaft which are capable of preventing the bearing of a core holder from being shaved due to the rotation of the shaft and abnormal noise from occurring due to rubbing between the shaft and the bearing. SOLUTION: The cassette for the thermal transfer sheet 10 includes the core holder 11 which is made of plastic and includes the holding part 13 of a winding core and the holding part 12 of a supply core, and covers 21 and 20 which cover the holding part 13 of the winding core and the holding part 12 of the supply core, respectively. The shaft 30 which guides the thermal transfer sheet 5 and is made of stainless steel is provided in the core holder 11 and both end parts of the shaft 30 are freely rotatably held by a pair of bearings 31 and 31. The surface of the part corresponding to at least one bearing 31, of the shaft 30 is surface-machined so that the skewness Rsk of the surface is a value of -0.2 or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
