SPACE-TIME CODING FOR COOPERATIVE SYSTEMS

A cooperative system includes a source node (SC), N relay nodes (R1-RN) and a destination node (DS). The source node encodes information symbols by combining said symbols in the form of encoded elements distributed in a space-time matrix, the encoded elements from each of the rows and columns of the matrix depending respectively on the combinations of said symbols. The source node then transmits the N first lines of encoded elements to the N relay nodes and the destination node and subsequently the N last lines of encoded elements to the destination node. Each relay node corrects one of the N first lines in the form of a corrected line and transmits same to the destination node.
