摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine comprising a fuel supply control device that, upon a change in operating state from such a state that a high-pressure pump (a high-pressure fuel supply means) 15 is stopped and a fuel is supplied with a feed pump (a low-pressure fuel supply means) 17, to such a state that the supply of a fuel at a high pressure is necessary, can improve the state of spray of a fuel supplied from a cylinder injector 13 to a combustion chamber in a period until the pressure of the fuel reaches a target fuel pressure. <P>SOLUTION: Several fuel injections immediately after a change in operating state from such a state that a high-pressure pump (a high-pressure fuel supply means) 15 is stopped to such a state that the supply of a fuel at a high pressure is necessary are carried out so that the injection period is near a suction air bottom dead center (BDC).
