<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary connector device maintaining a neutral state by releasing a lock mechanism when attaching a handle and by actuating the lock mechanism when detaching the handle while maintaining its size. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary connector device includes a fixed side case and a rotating side case coupled to be relatively rotatable, a cable contained in a cable container formed between these two cases and a lock mechanism in contact with an inner cylinder part of the rotating side case. The lock mechanism has a rotating member supporting member and a rotating member. The rotating member supporting member protrudes from the inner cylinder part and is inserted into a shaft part of the rotating member. The rotating member has an inner cylinder part locking part, a steering boss contact part and a shaft part. The inner cylinder part has a notch. A bottom part of the fixed side case has a bottom notched part.
