The device has a compensation container (6) designed such that the atmospheric pressure acts on a liquid column. A flexible thicker tube (4b) is provided over a flexible thin tube (4a), where an inner diameter of the thicker tube is larger than an outer diameter of the thin tube. The thicker tube has a free end that is closed and holding a pressure absorber (5). The thicker tube has a fixed end that is connected with an outer wall of a container (2) i.e. fermenter, such that the pressure compensation between the air in space between the two tubes and the surrounding atmosphere is ensured.
