<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusion transfer type thermal transfer recording medium which can provided an image excellent in sharpness at high density with high image durability, the thermal transfer recording medium capable of providing a color image of smooth gradation expression by relaxing graininess of dots in a low gradation region and rough state. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal transfer recording medium has a thermal transfer ink layer containing, on at least a support, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymerization resin, a coloring pigment, and a dye to be sublimated or diffused by heat, and is characterized in that the dye to be sublimated or diffused by heat is contained, in the thermal transfer ink layer, ≥50 pts.wt. relative to 100 pts.wt. of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymerization resin and that the thickness of the thermal transfer ink layer is ≤0.5 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
