<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst which conducts the detoxification treatment of a toxic substance or the purification of fouling and further imparts the antibacterial properties by irradiation with light to oxidize, reduce and decompose toxic substances, to provide a detoxification treating method of a toxic substance using the same, and to provide a fouling substance decomposition purifying method or to provide an antibacterial method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The photocatalyst comprising a composite oxide having the optical absorption end at a visible light area is characterized in that the composite oxide has formula; Ag<SB>x</SB>PO<SB>y</SB>(2.8≤x≤3.2, 3.8≤y≤4.2, x/y=0.66-0.84). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
